INTRODUCTION

With this title and fly in we want to honor the fundational legend of the mediterranean culture.

Although it is relatively small, our sea is not possible to embrace in a single fly-in and this is the reason why we start in the western part of it, in an leg based event which will take place from island to island. We will visit the following:

  • Menorca
  • Corsica
  • Sicilly
  • Pantelleria
  • Lampedusa
  • Sardinia
  • Eivissa
  • Mallorca
 
LEGS

LEG 1

  • Maó (LEMH) - Ajaccio "Campo dell'Oro" (LFKJ)
  • Date: January 27th, 2008. 17 h Central European time.
  • Sceneries: A good freeware scenery is available at http://www.virtualcorsair.fr/ (look for NOS BASES. At the end of the page there is a link for FS9). It is a customisable so it can be configured depending on the computer performance.

LEG 2

  • Ajaccio "Campo dell'Oro" (LFKJ) - Palermo (LICJ)
  • Date: February 10th, 2008. 17 h Central European time.
  • Sceneries: Palermo: You will find a good scenery of Franco Baratti at AVSIM and you can also install the patch for this aeroport of the same author.

LEG 3

  • Palermo (LICJ) - Pantelleria (LICG)
  • Date: March 2nd, 17 h Central European time.

LEG 4

  • Pantelleria (LICG) - Lampedusa (LICD)
  • Date: March 9th, 2008, 17 h Central European time.

LEG 5.

  • Lampedusa (LICD) - L'Alguer (LIEA)
  • Date: March 23rd, 2008, 17 h Central European time.

LEG 6.

  • L'Alguer (LIEA) - Eivissa (LEIB)
  • Date: April 6th, 2008, 17 h Central European time.

LEG 7.

  • Eivissa (LEIB) - Ciutat de Palma (LEPA)
  • Date: April 20th, 2008, 17 h Central European time.
 
ROUTES AND CHARTS
 
RECOMMENDATIONS:
  • Different legs may be flown with different aircraft.
  • Preferably use a propeller aircraft (turbo or piston).
  • Departure will be at 17 h Central European time and we will log in 30 minutes before to prepare the flight.
  • We suggest to include the following in the REMARKS of the flight plan: ODYSSEY and leg number. For example: ODYSSEY; Leg 1.
