[b]08OCT11 1500z Leg 2: Sicily: Where the legend begins[/b]
Remembering the odyssey of the Catalan Company in the Mediterranean:
In four legs beginning at Perpinyà (LFMP) we will remember a few of the outstanding facts which took place in the Mediterranean of the XIV th century by the Catalan warriors also known as Almogàvers.
We are now in 1282 and the King Pere The Great sends about 2.000 almogavars to combat the French forces threatening Sicily.
The second leg will bring us, departing from from [b]Alacant (LEAL) to Palerm (LICJ)[/b] in Sicily.

Departure: [b]Alacant - El Altet (LEAL)[/b]
Arrival: [b]Palermo - Punta Raisi (LICJ)[/b]
Distance: 718 nm
The group departure time will be at 1500z, (17:00 CEST).
We will be meeting at LEAL apron next saturday at 1430z to fly the second leg.
